Your MyNMERB self-service account provides a real time calculation based on posted salaries and service credit. The calculation is based on your individual Tier retirement eligibility and age at the time of retirement. Login to the MyNMERB Account Member Portal to calculate an estimate tailored for you.

This calculator will give you an estimate of your annual and monthly gross (pre-deduction) retirement benefits. This is provided as a retirement planning tool to help you estimate your future retirement benefit. Calculations are estimates only.

Military Service Purchase

Allowed Service Credit

You may purchase up to five years of allowed service credit if you have served in the US Military or the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service previous to your ERB service.

The cost to purchase Military Service is based on the average of the last 20 quarters earned multiplied by the Employee Contribution Rate % + the Employer Contribution Rate% = cost of 1 year. (ex: $55,000 x 24.85% = $13,667.50 for 1 year of allowed service credit).

This calculator will give you an estimate of cost to purchase allowed service credit. Please do not send any payments based on these calculations. Any payments received by NMERB without a Purchase Agreement in place will result in monies returned to the sender.

Once you have used the calculator, received your estimated cost, and you are interested in making a purchase, please contact NMERB Member Services and request a Purchase Agreement. You must be vested and submit a DD214.

Out of State Employment or Private Employment in New Mexico

Allowed Service Purchase

You may purchase up to five years of allowed service credit if you have worked for any of the following institutions:

A public school or institution of higher learning anywhere in the US:

• A US Military Dependents’ School.
• A federal educational program in New Mexico.
• An accredited private school or institution of higher learning in New Mexico.

The cost to purchase service credit is based on an actuarial cost that reflects your length of service and current earnings. This calculator will give you an estimate of cost to purchase allowed service credit. Please, do not send any payments based on these calculations. Any payments received by ERB without a Purchase Agreement in place will result in monies returned to the sender.

Sick Leave Credit

Earned Service Credit

This calculator will provide you with an estimate of how much it will cost. The cost is based on current actuarial assumptions and will be different for each member based on their individual circumstances.

If you have acquired at least five years of earned service credit you may purchase additional service credit based on unused sick leave. The amount of unused sick leave one needs to have accumulated in order to purchase service credit is detailed in the chart below.  By statute eight hours of sick leave equals one day of sick leave:
