Mr. Archuleta is joining ERB from the New Mexico Retiree Health Care Authority (NMRHCA) where he served as Deputy Director before being promoted to Executive Director in 2017.  During his time at NMRHCA, he contributed to the extension of the program’s solvency from 16 years to more than 30, while investments grew from $268 million to more than $1.1 billion today.  David’s professional experience includes more than 20 years of service with the General Services Department, Department of Finance and Administration, Legislative Finance Committee and Department of Transportation.  David earned a Master of Business Administration from the College of Santa Fe and Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in finance, from the University of New Mexico.

Mr. Archuleta spoke about taking on this new role by saying, “I am extraordinarily grateful and humbled for the opportunity to lead an organization that is critical to the well-being of so many of my fellow New Mexicans. Especially those who dedicated their careers to helping us raise and educate our children.  I also look forward to joining an organization that has distinguished itself for excellence in financial reporting and received recognition for excellence in reporting for public pensions.”

As an experienced and innovative leader, we welcome Mr. Archuleta to the ERB community. We look forward to continuing the legacy of service to ERB constituents and greater New Mexico under his leadership.
